Building Campaign History

St. Ronald Parish is more than a building. It is a living, breathing, growing assembly of the people of God. “Growing” is the best way to describe our parish community. We are blessed with a deep spirituality and a commitment to one another and to our parish. As with any growing family, space is a major concern. St. Ronald Parish is growing and now is the time to expand our home.

In 2003, a building committee was put together to evaluate and determine the growing needs of the parish. Parishioners were asked how our parish building can be improved and what is needed. The committee reviewed those needs and wishes and have work diligently to incorporate them into the ultimate plan for the parish building addition and renovation.

In April 2005, we began our campaign. Besides parishioners donations and pledges, we have ran many fundraisers in the past two years for this campaign. These fundraisers would include: Friday Lenten Fish Fries, Summerfest Church festival, Pancake Breakfasts, Raffles of items, donations from different committees or companies, The Religious Education Penny War and more.

In 2006, the building committee hired the services of Stucky-Vitale Architectural firm in Royal Oak. This firm recently provided us with a revised, more economical proposal for the addition. The ultimate project includes: a large and spacious gathering area, a permanent baptismal font, additional classrooms/meeting rooms, a place to lay a body instate, additional restrooms, a larger hospitality room, a new receptionist are, extra storage space and much more.

In September 2007, the Archdiocese of Detroit approved our request to build this addition. On October 15, 2007, we had our groundbreaking ceremony. It was a lovely evening and as always many parishioners came to show their support.
